Lovely Service

Today I got to find out just how good my "new" mascara is. We went to my friend Chris' mothers funeral (whom I have never met). Chris played several pieces on the piano, and for some reason they made me feel emotional. I guess everyone here already knows that I cry or tear at the drop of the hat, but now I'm finally admitting it. There are some things that touch me and seem to stir such a deep sadness that I can't help but cry. I wonder what there is in me that is that sad? I generally think of myself as a happy person (except when I'm not) so moments like these surprise me. They are not the same feelings as depression - that is more of a despair - this is more of a feeling of loss. Which I suppose is pretty normal at a funeral. Or not?

All that tearing aside, it was a lovely service. After which some of us went out for lunch. It was good to catch up with Jo Ellen and Don - they are always fun to spend time with.

A quick stop at Costco, and then Home Outfitters and we were home in time to watch some golf (I don't know which characters to use to make a face about that!).

What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.
