What the Traveler Sees

We've been finding any excuse we can to go out for a drive in the new car. It is a pretty comfortable beast with plenty of room in the front. We've been all over the place: Ottawa, Casselman, Winchester, Ingleside. We are doing a pretty good job of avoiding the spring cleanup here at home...

It was Leo's birthday yesterday, so last night we drove with friends to the Bierstube (45 min drive). With four of us in the car, Jerena and I got to check out the back seat. It wasn't too bad, with plenty of room for our legs and a wide armrest in the centre. Three people in the back would be a bit of a crush though.

Today we were at Liquidation World looking for shorts. A woman pushing a stroller passed me in the aisle and as she passed I could hear her talking to her child "okay, you can stand up, it is okay to break the law sometimes". WTF!!! What does she think she is teaching the child? Breaking the law is good sometimes?!!?

Sadly - I don't even have a photo of the car to post yet!

We have more of our summer travel plans finalized: 3 nights at Dinosaur Provincial Park and 4 nights in Calgary. We are going to have to get cracking and get into shape as there are some serious hikes at Dinosaur and in Banff!

The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see.

  1. Oh dear. No wonder there seem to be so many criminals or just those who don't give a #%#$^@& about others. :(
