The Grass So Green, The Sky So Blue, My God This Must Be Timbuktu

Do you ever notice that some days the sky is bluer and the grass is greener? This morning was one of those mornings. We got up early (ish... before 8am) and by 9 we had our coffee and were out for our walk. We wanted to get the walk done early as the forecast was for HOT HOT HOT. We did our usual loop, plus another one for good measure. The dogs got 2 opportunities to dip themselves into the water - none of them are big swimmers, but they do like to dip their toes and maybe even wade up to their chests. So much for the baths they had the other day - they'll be stinky after a few days of this!

Anyway, as we were walking back to the trailer, it just struck me how beautiful everything was. I'm not sleeping much these days... I might be getting a little hypomanic... The lack of sleep is making me a bit emotional, it doesn't take much to bring a tear to my eye.

We treated ourselves to a Basketcase breakfast this morning (we did walk for over an hour!). Oh my, the bacon was good. We don't normally allow ourselves this naughty treat so it tasted even better! The home fries that come with the breakfast are Fantastic. The waitress confided in us that they are cooked in butter... the good stuff usually is (or bacon fat - things cook up good in that too!).

The rest of the day was spent lazing around the site, trying to keep out of the sun. Life is rough!

Oh - Carm confided that he is starting to feel excited about our adventure - my crazy enthusiasm must be rubbing off a bit ;-)

Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.

  1. Re: the quote. Unless you are in the Southwest USA. Then the primary color is sandy gray. Especially in summer.
