A Few More Things Checked Off

We've had a busy few days but even still I've managed to get a few more things done for my trip. Just two more sleeps to go!

Saturday night we had supper at Laurie & Kelly's. I met Laurie on the internet in 1997 on a horse list. It turned out that there were more things in common including that she lives just around the corner from us! This visit we met their "new" puppy (new because he's 10 months old but we hadn't met him yet). Bear is a Schnauzer mix and just the cutest guy - he reminded me so much of Snowy on Tin Tin - super cute and full of character. The friend she got him from has another litter from the same parents - let's just say it's a good thing I'm going away or Spike might have found himself with a little sister or brother!

Of course it was snowing again on Sunday, they were calling for just 5cm but from the snow on the back deck it is pretty clear we got over 10cm. I say "of course" because we had to go into town for our great nephew's baptism. Georgio did pretty well with all the excitement. He seemed bemused with the attention he was getting from his doting grandparents, aunts and uncles, but when his mom took him and stripped him naked, he was less impressed. However, it wasn't until he was plunked in a font of water, with a jug poured over his head, that he started crying. After the church service there was a lovely meal served in the hall next door, followed by some Lebanese music and dancing. It was a big event!

No snow falling today - just a blazing sun in an amazing blue sky. We did have to go into town again - this time to see Carm's mom's on her 85th birthday. First we stopped at Costco to pick up a few things (check). We had a lovely lunch with her and then headed over to my parent's place for a quick visit. And then home to check off a few more things.

I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult.
