It was raining yesterday after several days of fairly nice weather - not swimming nice but outside planting nice. It was a perfect day for baking cookies… luckily with better success than the ones I baked on Tuesday to take to Kirsten’s. Those chocolate chip cookies were special egg free ones :-0 But now I have a few dozen choc chip and butter pecan cookies in the freezer for when we have coffee guests at the rally.
Tuesday we foisted ourselves on Kirsten and the girls for a little visit. I wanted Lupa to see some other dogs before we head to the rally… she barked and carried on but not as badly as I thought she might, so I guess it was a success? Adia was perfect (aside from walking and walking and walking around the house while we ate our lunch).
What is NOT perfect is Lupa’s hysteria when we leave her behind. We’ve put the wyse camera to good use the last few days… to reveal barking and/or howling every 5 minutes for the duration of our absence. I’ll be stuck at the trailer with her… I feel frustrated as Bella, Kabira, and Spike were always perfect in the camper and never made a peep. How do I know? Well, I asked our camper neighbors almost every single time we left them behind.
Today we finished the last of the plantings. The deck is dotted with pots of various sizes and colours. It’s a bit of a scribble! We don’t have a timeline on the deck refurbish yet but know we’ll have to off load all these pots (some heavy) when construction rolls around. After we were finshed that and a few other things, Carm hoisted the heavy hitch into the back of the truck. Yikes. We both needed a swim after that heroic feat of strength.
Last night we had a lovely visit with Kari & Meryle.
We cast our votes at the pre-polls yesterday - done and dusted. Not expecting any miracles.
Awesome!
