Languid is the word that best describes today!

Yesterday was another one of those perfect summer days. We got up early (but not too early!), had a cup of coffee and then headed into town to do our errands. It was hot and sunny and the pool called to us. We made all our stops, including one to the downtown Thai restaurant for take-out Pad Kee Mau (a favorite from my working days), and then headed right home.

I got the patio set up for lunch, we had a lovely swim and then cracked open a bottle of bubbles to sip with our lunch. Does life get any better than this? Sipping champagne by the pool while eating Thai food. Seriously, we couldn't think of a better way to spend our 24th wedding anniversary. It was perfect. After we finished our lunch we went for another swim (float would be a better word), and then sat on the swing together finishing our last glass of bubbles. We talked about all matter of frivolous and serious things. Life is good.

Today was another brutally hot day. Carm took his mom to the dentist while I did some stuff around home. By afternoon the sun was blazing down so hard it was difficult to do anything other than lay around on the swing with the odd dip in the pool to cool off. The water is up to 86F/30C so it is a bit of a bath.

Just 6 days until we leave on our roam! This time next week we'll be at another new to us campground somewhere in northern Ontario - the first two days our our journey behind us. Wow.
