Photo Essay–New Camper

Here are a “few” photos of the conversion from our Titanium 29e34rl and the new Titanium 30e35sa. It was a process!

We haven’t settled on a name for it/him/her yet, but there are 3 in the running so far: Tardis (Dr. Who) ; Brownie (cow – cottage on wheels, and it is a bit brown so brownie, a good name for a cow) ; or Howie (home on wheels). Any suggestions? Please!

I spent a few days unloading all the stuff from the 29. There was tons of stuff and I started to freak out a bit (okay, a lot) as I knew there wasn’t as much storage on the new camper.

A break with the dogs. The mornings are frosty these days, but luckily for us the weather held out so that we could pick up the new camper. No snow yet! I’ve even been lucky enough to be able to leave the slides out so we can get all settled in.

20121112_dogs_002The poodles are way overdue for a hair cut, but I’ve been putting it off until we were back from getting the new camper – I wasn’t sure if they’d need their hair for the sleepover.

On the night we picked it up: Morry’s had us all hooked up so that we could spend the night. I brought a few things along to make it feel (a bit) like home then we settled down for some junk food and a quiet night.

20121116_drive-home_001On our drive home on Friday. Carm did a good job getting us there and back, and especially getting us through Toronto in one piece. It was a pretty tiring few days though – I’m not sure we’d want to do more than 2 long driving days in a row – something to think about for our trip next summer (anything good to see in Thunder Bay? It might be a good spot for a day layover).

Now the jigsaw puzzle starts. How to fit X amount of stuff into x amount of storage…

Gulp. This and more has to shoehorn in…

20121117_underway_011
20121119_all-unpacked_003(Mostly) all done. I’d like a slightly different fabric for the pillows but I’m pretty happy with how it has turned out. It is much fancier than what we have at home, but since we’ll be camping… I guess we should be pretty formal? We took one of the recliners out to make room for Grace’s cage, which we haven’t put it in yet as we’d like to find a non-toxic paint to freshen it up.

I love the hardwood floors and imagine that it will be much easier to keep things clean.
20121119_all-unpacked_005Doesn’t this look inviting? We will be taking the two back chairs out though and tucking dog beds against the wall. That will leave a bed for Bella and Kabira, Spike will be under Grace’s cage. It will be nice to have the beds all tucked away – no more Bella underfoot!
20121119_all-unpacked_007Kabira was enjoying the fireplace yesterday afternoon. It adds a nice ambience as well as kicking out 1500 watts of heat.
20121119_all-unpacked_009I started to lay out where I want to put the pictures. There isn’t much wall space but I like to have a few things hung up, it makes it seem more like home.

20121121_side-kitchen_002
For the kitchen we got hanging thing from Ikea (you can’t see it in the picture above, it is tucked under the counter – the baskets hook onto a rail that is mounted on the wall. It is very flexible and will give some extra counter space. One of the baskets is a cutlery stand – I like to keep the cutlery that we use all the time out of the drawer – the drawers are a bit&% to open!

Once we see how this works out we will install another one on the other wall.

20121119_all-unpacked_018Grace will have two windows to look out of. I think she’ll be very happy here.
20121119_all-unpacked_020We were looking through the pile of manuals looking for the stereo system one. One of our jobs this winter will be to categorize everything into file folders. It would making finding stuff much easier! (and it will give us our rv fix).

Happy happy!

Remembering

poppyCarm turned on the Remembrance Day service at about 10:45. I had a few minutes to reflect on the lives of those who served for our country. Sadness washed over me – it seemed as if the emotions of so many were borne on the wind. I stood at the window and let the tears flow blurring my vision. I thought of the mothers sending their sons into the unknown, and worse, getting the notice that they were lost and perhaps in one of the unmarked graves that sanctified the earth. Husbands leaving wife and child. So much lost.

As the service started I turned to watch the tv. Old men stood with time-worn faces that showed little emotion. They were trained soldiers after all. But their eyes seemed haunted. What memories were reeling through their minds? What fallen friends were missed? Do they ever get the bloody visions of war out of their thoughts? I wept for them.

After the fly by of the F18s on tv I ran outside to see if I could see them. In years past they have flown right over our house so I figured the odds were good. Well, I waited and waited (and froze), finally I gave up and came inside. I wasn’t in for more than a few minutes when I heard a roar over the house – I ran out in my bare feet but couldn’t see them. I guess they were long past by the time the sound came to me. When I was back inside I could hear them in the distance, so I put on some shoes (it was near zero and the ground was wet) and went back outside – this time they were too far north, but I could hear them clearly. Oh well. I guess hearing them is almost as good. It sent chills down my spine.

Poppy_Appeal_by_pc185

By now you may be thinking that all I do is cry! I don’t actually cry all that often – honest!

After the service I started poking through the piles of stuff from the camper to see what I could purge. I managed to pull out quite a bit of stuff… I feel calmer. It will be okay. It will be a challenge and I love challenges!

Merikay asked me why we are doing this since we love our old camper so much. An excellent question, but one that doesn’t have a logical answer!

  • our camper is a 2004 so we wanted to trade in for something newer while it is in such good condition and is still worth a bit
  • the new camper is a bit longer, but it has two slides (room extensions) across from each other in the living room which makes for a spacious room (good for dogs and people). There is also a slide in the bedroom
  • we got carried away
  • we were attracted to the two power awnings
  • I may have been a bit manic (which would explain yesterday and the day before of total meltdown, and that now I’m 100% fine again)
  • we really like this brand of rv but they don’t make them anymore so we want to get one while we can (yeah, okay, there will always be some up for sale). The new one is the newest model made (2010) by Titanium before Glendale folded.
  • I might have been a bit manic
  • the new trailer has tons of bells and whistles. Not only is it a nice brand of rv, it is loaded with all the options plus more. I like nice stuff!
  • we went to an rv sale and got caught up in wanting something nicer. Then on a rainy day we went to an rv dealer and saw a nice rv (but giant and expensive)
  • we wanted a bigger fridge (the new one has a 10cf fridge vs our old 8cf)
  • I worked out where all the storage matches up and where things will go before we went to see it (I thought). I forgot some of our cupboards. And the basement is a bit smaller. And it is short one storage area outside. But in my mind it all fit. Until I started emptying the 29
  • we really like the new one
  • I can hardly wait to get it home so that I can start making it ours

I Held a Hyacinth Macaw!

And bought a new trailer...

Yup. All in one day. We got up before the crack of dawn and drove for hours. Through Brockville (where we stopped for breakfast, see last post). Past the turn off for Presqu'ile. Past the hotel that we stayed at the time we took Pan oval track racing. Through Toronto where the smog almost chocked us. Up through Orangeville, and then 1 1/2 hours through area we've never traversed until we finally arrived at Morry's.

Anyone that knows Titaniums will know where I'm talking about. It is a giant rv sales place between Walkerton and Hanover which specializes in Titanium trailers. Even though Glendale (company that made the Ti brand) has been out of business for a few years, Morry's is still the place to go. He not only had tons t choose from, he also have parts to build a million more. And he is very knowledgeable, and extremely affable. But he might actually be a bit of a tricky salesman cause we went there to look at a 2008 model but came away owning a 2010 model!

The new camper is almost the same as the one I showed you pictures of last week (but the fridge isn't on a weird angle). It is also LOADED with features. I'm sure I won't remember them all but I'll give it a try: hardwood floors throughout the main floor, 10cf fridge, thermopane windows (good for cold or hot weather), convection microwave, leather sofa and chairs, two electric awnings, mor-ryde hitch, disk brakes, and a ton of other features that I am forgetting. Did I mention the hardwood floors (love, love, love)? It has beautiful upholstery, which I'm not going to cover up... I'm going to have to get some new fabric to make some coordinating pillows, etc. I have projects for the winter!

The funny thing about this is that when we were buying our first trailer, I didn't want anything longer than 16'... our first trailer was 24'... our next trailer was 29'... our current/now last trailer was 34' and now ... our new trailer is 36.5' ... how times change! Thirty six and one half feet is LONG ENOUGH!!!!

Now back to Eric, the owner of Morry's. We mentioned that we travelled with 3 dogs and a parrot, and as soon as I said parrot his ears perked up and we started to talk. He first mentioned his African Grey Timneh, and then went on to say he had a Green Wing Macaw and ... a Hyacinth Macaw. They are the Cadillac of parrots - great huge purple bird with bright yellow skin around his eyes and beak. Stunning. And I held him. Benson was a total sweet heart so I quickly passed him back to Eric as my eyes were starting to prick tears. Strangely I had dreamt about Zack (our male B&G macaw), last night.

Now were are sitting with our tablets in a little hotel in Hanover. It's clean but not very fancy. But it is pretty big and has room for a little table and two chairs. We'll walk (or maybe drive - it's freezing) over to a restaurant for supper in a little while. And then it is lights out to rest up for another marathon drive.

Ha ha. On our drive I realized that our journey to Morry's is HALF as long as I'll be stuck in the plane for between Vancouver and Sydney this January. It is a 15 1/2 hour flight... OMG... at least we were able to get out of the truck and walk around. I'll have to try to get an aisle seat. Maybe it wouldn't bug the other passengers too much if I were to do lunges in the aisle!

Happy Trails!  (what! no pictures - not today, I'm too tired to get them off my camera)

Carpets of Pine Needles

Can you believe it? Last night we were at the Bavarian Bierstube AGAIN! This time for Vashek's birthday. We had a great time as usual with lots of laughter and interesting conversation. Five of us shared a platter that included schnitzel, chicken, sausage, onion rings, potatoes, sauerkraut, cabbage rolls. All with a side of German Potato Salad. And washed down with dark German beer. Can you say full? It was yummy, but hopefully the end of feasting for a while as you'll note that not one of those items is on our Eat to Live plan...

I'm reading a book called "The China Study" which is linking animal protein consumption with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and a number of other ailments. They are advocating that a plant based diet is the healthiest way. The interesting thing about this book is that they describe how the studies were done and what the results were at each step. There are page after page of scientific references. It isn't just some guy that did a study on 10 people, but is based on research done by dozens of researchers over twenty or more years.  We are on our way to eliminating animal protein from our diet (and have been for a few years), but we have far too many cheats of meats to be healthy.

The weather has been every which way - Tuesday was freezing and we needed the heater on all night. Yesterday I was in a sleeveless T-shirt and shorts. Last night we slept with the fan on instead of the heater. Today is cooler but cleared in the afternoon - t-shirt & shorts again. Tomorrow is supposed to be cold. And intermittently it has been cloudy with the threat of showers, only short periods of sun. A real mixed bag for sure. We have taken advantage of the weather to get out walking. The park is so beautiful this time of year, and I love the smells. Fallen leaves and carpets of pine needles. Ah the aroma. If only it could be captured for the dead of winter.

20121002_riverside_022

With all the inside reading time I've finished the second Kristen Lavransdatter book! There is still a paragraph from that book that I want to share. Now onto the third one - "The Cross". From the title I imagine it will be more weighty religious prose, but I will persevere as I believe some time is spent at Skjenna farm.

I’m generally a pretty tidy person and stuff lying around bugs me… except books. There is something about a pile of books on the coffee table, and a basket full on the ledge that makes me feel… hummm… I can’t think of the word, but I’ll bet other bookie people will know what I mean :–)

Jumbled and Jittery

I've spent the day online looking at a million combination of dates and times to get a good price for my tickets to New Zealand. There are hundreds of price compare websites to check out and the flight combinations seem endless. All the numbers started jumbling in my head till (duh) I started writing things down. I think I’ve found the good price (if only I could find that page again…)! I’m practically jumping out of my seat with excitement – perhaps I’ve just had too much tea!

20120928_flowers_001

My music player has been playing through all of this - mostly from a playlist of this weeks favourites. Of course it included endlessly playing the Katie Melua album, I'm nothing if not obsessive. I also have some Ella Fitzgerald playing which is also female love ballads. There is lots of other music, not just sappy! There's even some depressing Leonard Cohen. Carm has the patience of a saint.

20120928_flowers_005

Yesterday was beautiful, so, in a fit of work avoidance, we headed off to the big RV sale at the racetrack. We were up and down many, many stairs but didn't find anything to buy (ha ha) - we still like our old Titanium. I find the interiors of the new rigs to be so dark with all the dark cabinetry and flooring. I want bright and cheery! And not so darn formal – really, the furniture in these campers is more formal than what I have at home. We did see a pretty nice class A – cream leather and shiny off-white tile floor. How’s that for practical. Oh, and it was marked down to $299,999 – what a deal!

We met a couple that were shopping for their "fulltime" rig as they were in the process of selling their house and all its contents to hit the road fulltime. Scarily they hadn't rv'd before so they really have no idea if they'll even like the lifestyle. But I was just a tiny bit jealous - what an adventure that would be!

Peeping Friday

So far so good - the calm mood is holding out (although I hardly slept a wink last night and had all sorts of really strange dreams including one where Carm dove into a pool of pcb's)

I took my  tablet for a walk again this morning and this time didn't muck up the recording. Our morning walk here is 4.43km vs the 5km at Presquile. Still, a good way to start the day. After we got back from our walk we headed out to the "Basket Case", a little mom & pop restaurant in Morrisburg. The place is decorated with antiques and all the walls are covered with paintings and prints. The tables and chairs are mis-matched sets, and every table has a tablecloth and placemats. The salt and pepper shakers are all antiques, or at least not cheap modern restaurant kinds. It is a very homey atmosphere. Their speciality is club sandwiches and I'll have to say that even though I'm not a big sandwich eater, I gobbled mine up and enjoyed every bite. Carm (an aficionado) said it was the best he's had.

Including trips to a few little shops we were back to our camp by just after 2pm. Just in to to watch the first few campers rolling in. Aside from a couple in a little camper on tues & wed night the place has been deserted, but now that it's Friday all the working stiffs will start filling the place up. I like being a nosy nessie and watching them do their setups. Watching people take 5 minutes to get the camper in just the right spot makes me feel better about our own placement exercises (cause sometimes it is an exercise - in futility that is). We have a fairly complicated setup with our carpet, tablecloth, bbq, Grace's outdoor cage, zero gravity chairs, little table, herbs, etc., etc. Oh yeah, and the fence, and the big time killer the satellite dish. It usually takes us 1 hour, or maybe 1 1/4 hours. And then it is time for a snack and the ever so nice icy corona with lime. Ahhhhh. Bliss. That's a time that I can pretty much count on that feeling of calm contentedness.

So back to my idle observations of other people setting up. They seem to need as much time as we do. I think our years of working full-time, breeding parrots and breeding horses, not to mention that we are both pretty organized people, has made us super efficient. We have systems and procedures in place to speed the process. Or maybe we are just rushing for that first cold drink! (which by the way may be the last one we have for the rest of the trip... but thinking about it now (3:10pm in the hot sun) I'm thinking that one might be in order right now.)

But back to other people's setup... the guy across the way and down a bit is laying out a long line of what look to be solar lights on tall stakes - there are 8 of them spaced about 6' apart, now the woman is adding something to them, or maybe putting out another line of something - it's very strange - oh they are big pinwheels, just two of them. But then people probably think we are strange when we start putting up our fence... until they see the dogs... at Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads. Henry David Thoreau point they probably gasp with horror! (fyi - our dogs are pretty quiet so those horrified people often come up to us later and comment on how good the dogs are).

I guess I should just get my nose out of other peoples business (until the two campers across the way come!) and get back to reading my book. At my current rate I'll be reading book three by Christmas.

Cheers!

Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads. Henry David Thoreau

A Muddle / Our Hearts are Divided

20120909_property_001

It is one of those perfect September days - coolish, but clear and crisp. There is a faint smell of fallen leaves in the air - just faint though as not many leaves have fallen yet. The next few days are going to be a return to summer with forecast highs in the high 20's but then we scheduled to drop down to cooler temps for the weekend. Let's hope the rain holds off...

20120910_property_005

I've been busy cooking and loading the camper as we are heading off for a 9 night trip. I've been making jugs of lemon water,  quinoa burgers, sun-dried tomato/pesto hummus, breakfast cookies, peanut butter cookies and other sundry delights.  I like to be prepared... you know, just in case there is no food to be found elsewhere for the whole 9 nights... maybe there are no grocery stores where we are going (ha ha - it's not like we are going to that Sandy Point campground in the middle of nowhere Alberta - we will be just down the road from a few grocery stores!).

20120910_lemon-water_001

For the first night Carm is going to get us set up at the campground and then leave me for the night as Ruth is coming for a girls night! Yeah hurrah. To that end I played around with cocktails this morning. I have bottles and bottles of ancient booze that I'd like to use up, so I started looking for a recipe for Pernod (I have 1 1/2 bottles!). GAGSPEWGASPYUCK straight, tried mixing it with some ice water BLECH, added a bit of lemon juice PUKE... back into the cupboard it went (for what I'm not sure, but maybe I'll find a great recipe for some dessert thing). After that I was a bit too queasy to try anything more, but I do have some Blue Curacao that I could make something with. I'll have to google that and do some more tests... after I've got something in my stomach. I'd love to make some mojitos, but I don't have the mint to muddle. Maybe I'll just stick with lemon water, but Ruth and I do have a bit of a history of downing a few too many!

20120910_book_001I've started re-reading the Kristen Lavransdatter books, starting with "The Bridal Wreath". Oh my. I had forgotten how hard a read they are. It is a series of 3 books written by Sigrid Undset about life in Norwary in the 1300s. That alone is interesting, but what brings it even more to life for me is that some of the books are set in Skjenna! Yes, the very one that I wrote about just last week. I'll share details when I get there.

"There is no man nor woman, Kristen, who does not love and fear God, but 'tis because our hearts are divided twixt love of God and fear of the devil and fondness for the world and the flesh, that we are unhappy in life and death. For if a man had not any yearning after God and God's being, then should he thrive in hell, and 'twould be we alone who would not understand that there he had gotten what his heart desired. For there the fire would not burn him if he did not long for coolness, nor would he feel the torment of the serpents' bite, if he knew not the yearning after peace."

The other night when I was in bed a screeching howl broke the silence. Chills ran down my spine but I knew it wasn't some other-worldly creature, but instead was a fisher. If you've never heard one just imagine the sound of vampires strangling little girls, there is no sound like it. I searched around on the internet to find the sound, but never found anything close. I did come across one site that claims some of the calls are really fox calls. There was one (a vixen fox call) that sounded a little bit like it, but it lacked the spine tingling, hair raising aspect. Whatever it is I can see how legends of horror get started.

20120910_property_010

I've been sickening Carm with all my latest song downloads, that is when I'm not just blaring them directly into my ears (in which case he "gets" to listen to the odd pathetic outburst of singing from me - sometimes the words just blurb out of my mouth - I can't help it). The good news though is the NY/LA ear worm never took hold. Instead I've got a mixture of Crash Test Dummies "Superman", Ella Fitzgerald's "I've Got A Crush on You", and some one else's "I Will Remember You" swirling around in my head. Add in a bit of Twisted Sister ("I'm not Gonna Take It")  for a perfect medley or perhaps muddling madness!

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.

Presquile Recap with Photos

We are home… we pulled up stakes (literally and figuratively) yesterday (Thursday) and were on the way home by 12:30. Aside from a slowdown on the 401 (what else is new) it was smooth sailing.

It was a wonderful trip, but way too short. We aren’t sure what we’ll do next year as we are thinking about taking a road trip to out West, but it seems hard to believe we’d miss a year at Presquile.

Our weather was pretty much excellent, although the wind was certainly a factor. There were several afternoons that we stayed inside, and many suppers that we ate inside too – we couldn’t keep the plates on the table! A family in a tent set up a few sites down from us the day before we left – I hope they have good luck, cause with some of the wind we had I sure as heck wouldn’t want to be in a tent – especially with young kids. I suspect they’ve never camped on the water before…

We did drive around a bit, but not as much as we had planned. We drove past a few places that were for sale in the area, but didn’t go to any open houses. Carm doesn’t want to leave this area while his mom is alive, so hopefully we’ll be here for many, many years to come. But it would be nice to have a summer place there!

The bad thing about the trip is that I gained a few pounds. I have to learn a little more moderation… we don’t really need butter tarts EVERY night! Nor do we need to have fish & chips 3 times in 18 days – we never have them at home so why so much when we are camping… And the marshmallows – their pillowy softness and sweetness… I don’t even need a campfire to enjoy those! And hotdogs for lunch nearly every day? Seriously? What happened to the planned whole wheat pita with hummus and baby spinach that was planned? Not every meal was plagued with naughtyness though – we had lots of green beans, zucchini, red peppers, snap peas, tomatoes, etc. The “pesto” (basil, garlic, olive oil – no cheese or pinenuts) that I made just before we left was used on lots of things.

20120810_presquile-site_016We used the grill Mom and Dad got us to cook up many pounds of vegetables.

Early Morning Walks with the Dogs
20120811_presquile-lookout_002As soon as I was up I’d take the dogs out for their morning constitutional. We always made it to the overflow parking area, but some mornings we would go for a few kilometers more so that I could look out over this vantage point. It was so pretty and peaceful.
20120815_presquile-around-campground_009Even if we didn’t make the lookout we would at least get this far. What a peaceful morning!
20120815_presquile-around-campground_005On many mornings Gull Island was still in a rosy glow.

Visit with Jo Ellen and Don
20120814_presquile-joellen-don_001Stuck inside for a short time while it rained. Thankfully the rain was short lived.
20120815_presquile-joellen-don_011Digesting our lunch the next afternoon. The weather was sunny and wonderful. They treated us to Captain George’s fish and chips. This was our second time eating it…

Around About
20120815_presquile-site_001Morning on our site.
20120815_presquile-site_005Morning on our site. The water was so still we could see the bottom way out. See the sailboat way out on the horizon. They were often gracing the skyline.
20120816_presquile-brenda-bill_001Drinks with Brenda and Bill from Brighton. They had the site across the road from us. Carm helped Bill install a satellite connection into his trailer, and we all shared many visits.
20120817_presquile-around-campground_010Along the “Lighthouse Walk”. Every morning we drove to the day use area, parked the truck and did a 5 or 6 km walk. It was such a lovely walk I think I could do it every day! Walking in the park is one of our attractions to the area.
20120817_presquile-site_007This was a wavy, windy day from our site. I love the colours. We had great fun swimming in those waves. The water is only up to our shins for the first 50 feet, and then it goes up to our hips for another 20 or 30 feet, until finally it is up to our shoulders. We didn’t go out far enough for it to be over our heads.
When the water was really wavy it got a bit green from all the algae stirred up, but when it was still we could easily see the bottom, even when it was up past our shoulders. The bottom is smooth rock, no yucky muddy bits to walk through.
The last few days the water got much colder, but no matter the weather or the temperature of the water we had at least one swim a day Smile
Inside Our Camper
20120816_presquile-camper_006
Grace’s new cage worked out really well! She loved it and was never unhappy to come back inside. In fact some days I think she preferred it. The cage has doors for the food, so Carm could feed her without fear for his fingers. The tray is deep which keeps some of the thrown food inside, and newspapers fit inside neatly, making it easy to keep clean. It fits perfectly in the space.

The new fridge is fantastic! An $88 Walmart deal, it kept one tray of dog food blocks frozen until time to use it – I just set the fridge to its highest setting. There was room for lots of water – mason jars with lemon and limes. Once the dog food was gone, there was lots of room for some “adult” beverages. And it kept everything ICY cold – ummmmm.
20120817_presquile-camper_010I treated myself to this cute little painting of the lighthouse – the destination of our morning walks.
20120817_presquile-camper_012Doesn’t the painting look great hung on the wall? It is just above eye level when I’m sitting on the sofa, so will be a constant reminder of our wonderful trip. The little picture of the bird hanging about the light is from my trip to Upper Canada Village with Kirsten and the girls. It is another nice reminder. In my advancing age I need these little memory joggers!
20120816_presquile-camper_004The space where Grace’s cage used to be makes a great computer desk area.
I LOVE this camper, and with those two changes (cage & desk) this unit really worked well for us. I don’t think we need a bigger space! Especially if we end up purchasing the slightly smaller coffee table that Camping World has. It is the same pop up configuration, but at 1” lower and with 4” less width it would work just that much better. Four inches counts for a lot in this small space!
Visit with Deirdre and Chris
20120819_presquile-deirdre-chris_003The weather turned perfect as they pulled into our site. The wind even died down! I’m sure they didn’t believe us when we mentioned how many afternoons we spent inside hiding out from the wind! I seem to recall that we were enjoying a margarita that afternoon Winking smile
20120819_presquile-deirdre-chris_005Starting the campfire – look at the colour of the water and the sky.
20120820_presquile-deirdre-chris_006Yes, this is back at Captain George’s. Chris and Deirdre treated us to this greasy, but yummy feast. Missing from the photo are the two big bowls of coleslaw.
20120820_presquile-deirdre-chris_008Oh my… how did we finish all that… burp. After this, back to the site for a glass of bubbly and … a butter tart. OMG I need to lay down.
20120820_presquile-deirdre-chris_009Enjoying that glass of bubbles that I talked about in the last photo. I think there is a bottle of water on the table – what the heck is that doing there!
20120820_presquile-sunset_001This was the sky. I had to take a picture just to convince myself that it wasn’t my slightly tipsy, fish & fry distorted eyes. It was taken from our campsite. Can I just move here permanently?
20120820_presquile-sunset_003Pink clouds with the first sliver of moon. If I had a painting of this I would think that it was done by someone on LSD and not by Nature herself.

20120817_uncle-ken_001We had supper twice with my Uncle Ken who lives in Trenton. We had a lovely visit each time. We had wanted to have him over to the camp for a day, but with the weather being so unpredictable we just never got it set up.

Dogs Travelling
20120809_spike-window_003Spike liked to have his head out of the window as we drove through the park. We were going slowly so I wasn’t too worried about him getting something in his eyes.
20120819_presquile-kabira-window_002Kabira enjoyed the trip as well. Some times on the way back to the camp after our walk she’d be fast asleep, but sometimes she enjoyed the view and the feeling of the breeze.

Many a trip continues long after movement in time and space have ceased.
