welcome 2023

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful night and are now embarking on the best year ever, one that will be full of joy and awesome everything 🥰

I should have tried doing a selfie!

We had a small, rather exclusive party of just 4 guests. Trudie, Leo, Pat, and Cathey, joined us for a night of small eats and rousing conversation. (Trudie forgot to invite Leo’s cousin!)  Some guests were put off by the potential for bad weather plus the fog was like pea soup which made driving treacherous. I cooked for 3 days and of course I made enough food for everyone who might show up, plus the rest of the village! Jo Ellen and Don are coming for lunch tomorrow for leftovers…

Cathey brought her dog puzzles which the pups had great fun solving. Lupa went first - she figured things out reasonably quickly, but Adia was the star.

I wondered why we do this every year with the weather so unpredictable. I think we should change the date to sometime in the summer - perhaps June 30?

No hangover today but it was still a quiet day with sappy movies :-)  after the cleanup of course!

It’s still raining a bit today but by tonight the temps are forecast to dip back into the freezing range. I guess we were lucky that the garage was at perfect refrigerator temperature for the last 3 days as the fridge in the house was overflowing with food. I had to do some rearranging and consolidating to get everything inside… meanwhile, the laneway is clear and the creek is in raging flood. So much for all the lovely snow :-/

Awesome!
