We have had the MOST amazing weather for this first camp in the villetta - if this is a taste of the summer to come we are surely blessed. And if it isn't and we get a lot of rain, we won't mind being stuck inside our palatial camper.
I don't think I mentioned yesterday, but we have been shopping for harnesses for Bella and Kabira, and a new, slightly bigger harness for Spike. We started yesterday afternoon at Petsmart. Brought them back to the camper for a try on an a short trial walk - no go. None of them fit. Back to Petsmart in the evening and swapped them for 3 others of another brand. This time we brought the dogs, but I'll have to admit that it was a bit of a handful with 3 dogs, trying to adjust and fit harnesses, all while dogs on long flexi-leashes rush up to us, and kids stop wanting to pet everyone. It was hard to focus on the job at hand. As it turns out, when I did the test walk this morning, none of the harnesses worked. Argh. So this afternoon we headed out to another Petsmart to return them and find some others. This time we scored 2 that fit well, but unfortunately they only had one size large of the well fitting one so we thought a medium would do. It didn't. We'll be dropping into yet another Petsmart on Monday to hopefully switch the M for an L. Who would know that it would be so difficult to fit a harness!
The first harness that we picked for the girls was a lovely fushia pink that matched their collars and leashes. The second set were black which matched well enough. Unfortunately since they didn't fit now I've got a slate blue one for Kabira, and hopefully we'll get the purple one for Bella. I have a pathological need to match things so this is a bit hard for me!
For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.
